While our senior kitties might be in their golden years, they still have a lot of love to give and living to do. We absolutely adore these older souls and the presence they bring to your home. They might be set in their ways but we know them well to advise on the best match for potential adopters. Our senior kitties come to us from all sorts of backgrounds and origin stories. We think it is so special when an adopter wants to open their heart and home to an older kitty, knowing the reward will be so great to see them completely comfortable and happy where they belong. We commit to providing initial veterinary care to get a good picture of our senior kitties health prior to adoption so we can share everything we know about the cat prior to adoption. Give a senior a chance! You won’t regret it!

Sobi, Male, 12 Years Old
Sobi had been with Tails High for a couple of years now as we’ve been busy making sure we understood this senior boy’s health needs. We’re finally on track with a very easy to maintain regiment for his potential adopter to take over in his forever home! Sobi is a curious and sweet boy who loves pets and attention from anyone who will give it. His foster mom says he has a special love for head scratches and his catnip toys. He’s talkative when it’s time for food and has the cutest small meow to go with his cute small thumbs – yes, he’s a polydactyl kitty! Sobi has a lot of life left and lot of love to give and would love to be your best friend! Sobi has learned to coexist with his foster brothers, especially when they’re sharing the best spot by the fireplace or in the window to see birdies. He also likes visiting with his foster mom’s dog friend that visits frequently, so we think he would be great in a home with easy going pets! Sobi will require a daily anti-acid to keep his belly feeling good but he takes it very easily. Tails High has run extensive diagnostics on Sobi with our vets to make sure he’s in good health, even as a senior guy, so we’re confident he can go spend his golden years with a loving forever family!

Tater Tot, Male, 10 Years Old
Tater Tot is the funniest guy and keeps his foster family entertained with his silly antics every single day. He loves cuddling, napping in sunbeams and boy does he love mealtime! Tater Tot will remind you if you are even 30 seconds late with his breakfast and is always asking for a snack. He loves bird watching and will stand on his hind legs to see outside, watching his favorite bird feeder that’s like Cat TV. Tater Tot has a very big personality and gets along great with more relaxed kitties and dogs that let him be the boss. He’s getting along super well with his foster kitty brothers, being respectful of his foster mom’s sleep, not begging for food (too much ?), playing with toys, enjoying the catio time, and even losing weight since he’s been on a regimented feeding schedule. At 10 years old, we know Tate is ready to just find his happily ever after where he can bask in the sunbeams, snuggle his person and get the occasional yummy snack.

Sandie, Female, 12 Years Old
Sandie is a lovely golden girl that is looking for a soft place to land in her golden years! This sweet senior was once adopted as a kitten and returned to us recently when her family moved and she became very stressed in her new environment. Since Sandie has been in a foster home, she’s been an absolute doll and hasn’t exhibited any signs of stress once she was given time to settle in. Sandie would likely enjoy being your one and only gal but she’s tolerant of other kitties in her foster home, often asserting herself as the boss of the household and getting other cats to give her space when she wants it. She’s a snuggler through and through, finding a cozy spot as close as possible to foster mom in bed. She would love her very own forever family to let her snuggle with them and give her lots of affection!

Oreo, Female, 11 years Old
Oh, Oreo, you’ve come so far! This silly little 11 year old gal was adopted several years ago and unfortunately returned when her owner had to move across the country and fell on hard times. Oreo was quite scared when she came back to us and took months and months to even come out of her carrier in her foster home. It was heartbreaking. Fast forward to now, she has come leaps and bounds from the carrier dweller she once was but she still does like to find cozy places to hunker down… like under the sink in her foster mom’s bathroom. Oreo has surprised us the last several weeks as she’s been out and about exploring, hanging on the couch with her foster family watching tv, and accepting pets with some purrs in exchange. She’s not a cuddle bug just yet, but we’re confident that once she’s in a forever home that allows her to settle in time, she’s going to flourish into the laid back senior sweetie she’s always meant to be. If you’re considering a companion and think Oreo would be a good fit for you, we’re accepting applications for cat experienced potential adopters!
